Jennifer Hamady

Singing is about much more than vocal technique and physiology.  Unresolved fears, conflicting or negative emotions, and incorrect belief systems can cause as many seemingly vocal issues as the voice itself.

Training in the traditional, classical sense without first recognizing and addressing this important reality can create physical and mental tensions that become increasingly difficult to extricate as time goes by.  It is therefore crucial to first un-learn what's not working, before learning what does.

.

This is true of all growth.  We're unique individuals, with not only our own strengths and limitations, but our own best strategies for processing information and communicating.  We must therefore first honor where we've come from, and where we currently are, before moving forward toward where we want to be.  Only then can optimal learning begin, with lasting, integrated, and transformative results... in musical and personal performance.

My approach- which I've been sharing with clients both privately and in workshops for fifteen years- has allowed me to work with recording artists, Broadway performers, and television personalities- including Grammy, CMA, Emmy, and Tony award-winners- as well as corporate executives, community leaders, and organizations.

My experiences, ideas, and all that I've learned have been captured in my new book The Art of Singing: Discovering and Developing Your True Voice. In it, I share how singers, speakers, and others can find and release their true, authentic voices and selves by:

  • discovering their inherent learning patterns and preferences, and putting them into practice
  • unleashing their creative and vocal potential by cultivating the intuitive mind
  • recognizing and overcoming the powerful effects that fear and insecurity have on both the person and voice
  • implementing ‘best language practices’ that not only reflect the singing mechanism accurately, but dramatically improve awareness and vocal ability
  • understanding and using the psychology of singing and performing to their advantage, rather than allowing it to work against them

  • I am based in New York City, where I see the majority of my private clients, though I frequently travel around the country and world giving Master Classes and workshops; Nashville and Los Angeles are two of my more frequent stops.  Please Click here to learn more, share your experiences, ask a question and/or to schedule an opportunity for us to work and learn together. “Within the first coaching with Ms. Hamady, I developed a more comfortable approach to singing that sounded much closer to my natural voice that I unconsciously use every day in conversation.  After a performance less than a week later heard by strangers and friends alike, I received consistent observations attesting to my increased ‘resonance’ and overall expression.”
